NIGHTWISH: 'End Of An Era'
NIGHTWISH's latest DVD, "End of an Era", has been certified gold in Switzerland for sales in excess of 3,000 copies.
"End of an Era" contains recordings/footage of NIGHTWISH's final concert with singer Tarja Turunen, which took place on October 21, 2005 at the Hartwall arena in Helsinki, Finland. In addition to the live footage, the DVD includes a slideshow of pictures from the Hartwall show and a 55-minute documentary, "A Day Before Tomorrow", featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the band in the 15 days prior to the Hartwall Show. The documentary was edited by Timo Halo, who also edited and directed the "From Wishes To Eternity - Deleted Scenes" and "End of Innocence" movies that were released on previous NIGHTWISH DVDs.
NIGHTWISH fired Turunen via an "open letter," which was given to the singer immediately following the Helsinki show. The group has since found a replacement vocalist, Swedish singer Anette Olzon, and is preparing to release the follow-up to 2004's "Once", entitled "Dark Passion Play", in September.

Ozzy Osbourne Gets No Respect, Has No Clue What He’s Doing

New Web video site My Damn Channel has posted a four-part Ozzy Osbourne interview with producer Don Was in which the Prince of Darkness sounds like the Rodney Dangerfield of rock (”My ghost can’t even get a royalty!”), says The Beatles helped him realize what he could do “to get out of this shithole” (his Birmingham hometown, that is), and reveals a quintessential truth about the songwriting process: “I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing, it just feels good, ya know?” There’s some performance footage sprinkled in there, too — check out part four for a look at Black Sabbath rocking “War Pigs” in 1970.

AILD Video For “Nothing Left” To Debut On HBB
AS I LAY DYING’s brand new video for “Nothing Left,” the first single off of their highly-anticipated album, AN OCEAN BETWEEN US, will debut this weekend on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball.
The bleak, futuristic clip was shot in Van Nuys, California at Sound City Studios with Brian Thompson (Killswitch Engage, Angels & Airwaves) lending his directorial talents. “The high concept storyline mixed with the bands ripping performance should make this video a metal favorite,” says Thompson. The story, which was conceived by the band and fine-tuned by Thompson, follows a female character through a series of events which takes place within a decaying, future landscape.
The video will see its initial debut on headbangersblog.com on August 10th along with a special blog entry from the band and will then air on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball on August 11th.
The highly-anticipated AN OCEAN BETWEEN US is due in stores on August 21, 2007.
